What does it take to let go of a grudge?

What does it take to give it a nudge?

What does it take to just let it go?

What does it take to just say no?

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,

Or so it says in the book of truth

You could be mistaken so let me remind

An eye for an eye makes everyone blind

 

Courage my friend, to end that row

Courage to not retaliate now

Courage to say enough is enough

Courage to release the hatred and stuff

If you have the courage let go of that grudge

If you have the courage, give it a nudge

If you have the courage, let it go now

If you have the courage, forget the row.

 

So what does it take to understand?

Courage is not what you hold in your hand

It’s what you hold in your heart and mind

It’s the art of real love and being kind

Don’t be mistaken, don’t be misled

The courage you need is in your own head

It’s there to say enough is enough

It opens the heart to bring peace and love

 

Let go of the burden the weight is too heavy

Let go of the grudge it makes you unsteady

Let go of the rows, bitterness and pain

Let go of the hate again and again
