You Fill My Thoughts
You Fill My Thoughts.

I awake, slowly stretching, a smile on my face
As I rise to start another day and my thoughts turn to you
Are you rising from a deep sleep, gently smiling,
Eyes bright, do you think of me too?

I drink the last of my coffee, pick my bag up and go
Out of the door to start my daily tasks, but wonder
Have you already left to start your day? My thoughts softly flow
To the image of your face, my lips form a kiss, the bus comes, thoughts torn asunder.

When you are in your workplace, do your thoughts turn to me?
Does the image of my smile lift your heart as yours does mine?
Will you sit in the café at lunchtime, food uneaten, lost in a dream
As I will be too, caught up in thoughts of you, lost in time?

When at the end of the day, you pack your things away and leave
The office to make the journey home, will your heart fly once again
To my warm loving embrace, eyes shining, will your thoughts once more be
Seeing the love held deep in my own, until sleep calls your name?

Then when held in the throes of sleep’s wondrous theme
Will your thoughts wing their way to meet mine once more?
Ever for our Spirits to blissfully enfold our dream
‘Til the suns rays wake us, sighing, to a new days’ dawn
