The Parish Council operates a number of facilities and services
on behalf of the village.
The Parish Clerk will be happy to advise on the provider of other
services such as highway maintenance, schools, refuse
collection etc.

Facilities operated by the Parish Council:
- Bacton Village Hall (via the Village Hall
Committee)
- Cemetery (but not Parish Churchyard which
falls under the auspices of the Parochial Church Council)
- Allotment Gardens
- St. Mary’s Field Childrens’ Play Area
- Public Street Lighting (except those in
Cedar Close, Elm Way, Ash Close, Prettyman Avenue, Birch Avenue and
Woodward Avenue)
- Provision of (but not emptying of)
all public litter and dog bins
Services offered by the Parish Council:
- Reporting of Highway defects to Suffolk County
Council
- Maintenance of three registered village greens
(Shop Green, Tailors Green and Cow Green)
- Provision of village Footpath Warden
- Consideration of Grant Aid to Local
Charities
- Commenting on Planning Issues affecting the
village
- Regular litter picking activities
- Maintenance of certain grass verge
areas
