The Parish of Bacton
Bacton Civil Parish covers an area of about ten square kilometres (a little over four square miles, or about 2500 acres), about 6km North of the town of Stowmarket in Mid Suffolk. It includes the central village of Bacton located around Shop Green and Tailor's Green, and the surrounding settlements of Bacton Green, Earl's Green and Cow Green.  The total population of the parish in 2005 was estimated by the County Council at 1,180.

The Parish Plan Committee
The Parish Plan was produced by a Committee, reporting to the Parish Council, made up of local residents who volunteerered their time and resources - David Black, Mark Black, Bernard Coxhead, Bernard Gant, Rose Graham, Andrew Grant, Susan Holdich, Paul Howlett, Keith Miller and Helen Thomson, but many others helpedw to gather information, distribute and collect questionnaires and to deliver the completed Parish Plan.

Going Forward
Now the Parish Plan has been produced it falls to the Parish Council to manage the implementation of the Action Plan using their own resources or volunteers from the community to tackle these topics.  Whether you are concerned about a particular issue or have something to contribute you are encouraged to contact the Parish Clerk about it (email pc@bactonparish.org.uk or tel. 01359 230897).
