Project Progress

Now...
The Parish Plan has been produced and printed, and was distributed to all parish residents and other stakeholders in December 2010.

What next...
The Parish Council held an informal meeting for all interested residents on Tuesday 1st February 2011 to discuss the problems and opportunities for improvement highlighted in the Parish Plan and how we can address them.  Several groups were formed to take forward the actions identified in the Action Plan and this will continue into the future.  If you are interested in helping us please contact Councillor Bernard Gant (bernard@gants.co.uk or tel. 781630).

January
2009
The committee approved the questionnaire and began to plan for its printing and distribution.
To end of
2008
The committee studied the results from these and other consultation initiatives and selected those issues that appeared to be the most significant to the parish at large.  A sub-committee was formed to produce a questionnaire that would give us the most useful information about Bacton and its views on these issues.  (Not nearly as easy as it sounds!)
August
2008
Another public drop-in session was held, this time at Bacton Fayre.  A good crowd of people came by and gave us useful input.
July
2008
Lunchtime session with light refreshments where Andrew Grant presented the Parish Plan process to business people and invited their input
June
2008
Drop-in sessions were held at Bacton Village Hall on Friday and Saturday, 6th and 7th June.  Light refreshments were provided to visitors.  We had a good attendance from a range of residents and received a stimulating range of views and suggestions.

Offers of funding were reeived from the District and County Councils which, together with the initial grant through Suffolk Acre, will fund the process of producing our Parish Plan.
March 2008

Committee members attended a further Suffolk ACRE workshop on the initial consultation process.

Grant funding was approved and received from Suffolk Acre.  We also applied for funding to the District and County Councils.

January 2008 Rose Graham, Sue Holdich, Bernard Coxhead and Bernard Gant attended a Parish Plan Application Workshop organised by Suffolk ACRE.

The Committee completed an application for initial funding from Suffolk ACRE for the project, and began sending out letters to other potentially interested organisations inviting their support and participation.
December 2007 Jon Bell from Suffolk ACRE addressed the Committee and explained the funding application process.

At a committee meeting the following week it was agreed to set up this website to keep the community informed of our activities and to promote the plan.  Bernard Coxhead was appointed as Publicity Officer.
October 2007 At the inaugural meeting of the Steering Committee, Mark Black was appointed as Chairman and Rose Graham as Secretary.
August 2007 Jon Bell from Suffolk ACRE made a presentation on Parish Plans to a public meeting in Bacton Village Hall.  At this meeting it was decided to proceed with producing a plan, and volunteers were invited to assist with the process.
