A Parish Plan collects detailed
information about the locality, and about the local community and
its hopes, plans, needs and opinions. Our village is inevitably
going to change over the coming years, some changes coming from
within and some from outside, for example national and local
government initiatives and actions. Our intention in creating a
Parish Plan was to make sure that those responsible for planning
these changes are fully informed of our community’s needs and
wishes so that Bacton and the surrounding area becomes or remains
the place we really want to live in, and not someone else’s idea of
what we should have .
Taking
Control
Parish Plans give a community a way to have more control over its
future, to make its voice heard. By talking to everyone and getting
the input of as many people as possible, we believe we
have produced a document that fully represents the real views
of our community and can be used as hard evidence in arguing our
case for the changes and improvements that we really want to see,
and an Action Plan to help us achieve them.
Your help is still
needed!
Our Committee has worked with other organisations inside and
outside the parish to produce a Parish Plan
and Action Plan for Bacton. It will now be up to
the residents and Parish Council to take forward the actions
recommended. If you live or work anywhere in the parish
of Bacton, or have any other interest in the village, don't
wait to be asked - please join in and help!
Other Parish
Plans
Many parishes throughout Suffolk
are preparing their own Parish Plans and many have already done
so. Here are links to the websites of a few of them
where you can get a feel for what other parishes have done or are
doing, and what we hope to achieve:
