like to know the years that Rvd. George Reid MBE was Rector of St
Mary's, Barking.

Rvd. George Reid was Rector between 1965 and 1975. The
information is on the
board just inside the church doorway.
I would like to know who designed the Village Sign, and who
made it and when it was first erected.

The Village sign was designed by
Mrs. Herring. The religious figure represents the Bishop of Ely,
once owner of Barking Manor. The Lebanon cedar tree represents the
cedar trees in the Churchyard planted by Rev. Robert
Uvedale Rector from 1699-1723. The plough, the
importance of agriculture in the Parish.
