The Barking Chestnut Club make a second trip to Felixstowe,
this time to see the show 'We'll Meet Again' at the Spa Pavilion.

was an unexploded  war-time bomb lying just a few hundred
metres away, just off the beach
!

The Barking Chestnut Club paid thier first visit to the Hut at Felixstowe and
had such a good time, will try to repeat the trip next year. As the mini-bus
was not available, Jan, Pete, Rosemary, and Tony provided the transport.
Once settled in at the Hut, the fish and chip lunch arrived and everyone
tucked in, while enjoying a sunny sea view. After lunch, most ventured out
for a lovely stroll along the prominade and into the Spa Garden where the wallflowers were in full bloom. Back to the hut for tea and cake, then home to Barking. Thank you to the Barking Parish Council for providing the
funds to hire the Hut for the day. All in all - a Grand Day Out!

DoingthelambethWalkOi

On Wednesday 12 December the Over-60's held their
Christmas Party.  A great time was had by all.
We had a full Christmas dinner with wine and crackers.
Father Christmas brought everyone a small present and to
finalise the afternoon, Gill - a professional singer,
came and sang lots of songs from the 40s/50s, then did
some Old Tyme Music Hall songs and finished with the
singing of Carols.

We also celebrated Ernie Thorpe's 90th birthday with
a small birthday cake.  Cheers Ernie.

Our thanks to:  Ann Ross for a wonderful meal, Rosemary
for the help she gave her; also Jan and Peter for helping
with the serving of meals, etc.

Tony and his sidekick, Mabs, also helped out where and
when possible.  Ann also supplied a beautiful table centre
which we raffled and was won by Vicky.
