Ringshall &
Barking WI , formed in 1933, is part of the National
Federation of WIs (NFWI) and part of the Suffolk
East Federation (SEFWI).
Currently, it has 32 members who enjoy good
friendship and fun.
Subscription for 2010 is £29.50 which is divided between our own
Institute, SEFWI and NFWI.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (except
August), 7.30pm in Barking Village Hall. Meetings comprise half
hour business followed by a guest speaker/demonstrator.
The group also enjoys many out-of meeting activities. Fortnightly
walks exploring the local footpaths (often ending with a pub lunch)
are very popular, as are the occasional theatre trips or visits to
gardens or places of interest. The Suffolk East Federation organise
Celebrity and themed lunches, exhibitions, competitions and many
other activities to which Ringshall & Barking members regularly
attend and enjoy
themselves.

Ringshall & Barking WI Get to
Work
In June the ladies from the WI prepared and
served the wedding tea following the marriage of Bridget
Turner's daughter. On a glorious afternoon they made a
fetching sight in their Victorian maid's
outfit.
The WI held their Christmas Dinner in the Village Hall
on 17 January.
26 members attended.
