The Barnby & North Cove Woodland Project is a group of villagers who are looking at the possibility of creating a community woodland for Barnby and North Cove. We have formed a Steering Group to manage the project.

We have sought advice from Green Light Trust , an environmental and educational charity, who have already successfully established many community woodlands across the country.  We were the 25th group to be helped by Green Light Trust.

A tree nursery has been built within the school grounds and Class 1 have collected and planted some seeds there.. It will take several years for the trees to grow big enough to plant out and we will be using this time to find some land upon which to create our woodland!

We have been given the use of an allotment plot and we spent an enjoyable morning planting out pot-grown trees.
