REPORT:  (By the webmaster)

ANNUAL PTA FETE - In the School Grounds - (5 July 2008)

This year, as happened last year, the fete was held at the school. The weather stayed fine and the event apparently raised over £1000 for the PTA funds which will benefit all the pupils at the school.

Well done to all the helpers who give their time freely as helpers have done every year since the first annual fete was run many years ago.

A big thank you goes to those who were able to attend which made the day a success.

If the PTA would like to send in a report of the day then this could be displayed on the Reports about local events page.

From a comment received, it appears that some parishioners would have attended but could not easily get to the school.

REPORT '  (From the event organiser)

'GATEAUX GALORE' - In the Village Hall - (12 July 2008)

The Annual Community `Gateaux Galore` took place as usual in the village hall on Saturday 12th July.
.
Nearly seventy Bentley residents thoroughly enjoyed a vast selection of truly scrumptious home-made pavlovas, cheese cakes, sponges and flans – all kindly donated.
.
The regional power failure at the start of the proceedings was quickly overcome, as nearby residents quickly rallied around to provide copious supplies of hot water from their gas stoves, enabling pots of tea to be brewed on cue.
.
The organisers wish to thank everybody who supported this event, donated draw prizes and gateaux, and all those whose hard work helped to make this afternoon such a success.
.
All funds raised will go towards the Village Hall General Fund.
