clear days before the meeting.
(The 3 clear days do not
include weekends or bank holidays, the day the schedule is
displayed or the day of the
meeting)
Correspondence List:
The Corespondence list is not available to members
of the press or public with the agenda.

ANNUAL PARISH
MEETING:
An Annual Parish Meeting (APM) is called by the Chairman
of the Parish Council, unlike all the other meetings which are
called by the Clerk.
The minutes of an APM have to be approved by the members of the
public at the next APM therefore, if the Parish Council decideds to
display these on their website(s) they will be unapproved
minutes.
If the unapproved minutes of the last APM are not displayed before
the next meeting then copies will be available to read prior to the
meeting taking place.

Comment
MINUTES
of meetings:
The minutes of each Parish Council meeting should,
at all times, be a FACTUAL record of the events that took place at
the meeting. As they will not be a verbatim report the
minutes may not make 'enjoyable' reading however, they must contain
a factually accurate, brief report, of the events that took
place.
(Some time ago the council received a recommendation from SALC
that, as there is no 'laid down' requirement for the minutes
of Parish Council meetings to be a verbatim record, the
minutes should only contain a brief, but
accurate, record of the events, discussions,
proposals and voting that took
place.)
The clerk, as the Responsible Officer, has the role of recording
the events of a meeting however, before approving the 'draft'
minutes as a true record of the events, it is the councillors
responsibility to ensure that all the facts are accurately
recorded.
DISPLAY of
APPROVED MINUTES: (Bentley Parish
Council)
For some reason the approved minutes are not
available on the Parish Council website(s) at, or
close to, the same time as the paper copies are
displayed on the Notice Boards.
