This year saw a change of cast for our performance
of
Cinderella
. James Perkin was away at university and his father, Bob
kept the Perkin family on stage. Gordon Riley was given the
demanding part of Buttons for his introduction to the stage.
The advances in technology, together with the collapse of the
piano, meant that the music, sounds and lighting were all managed
by Keith Phillips. At the end of the final performance a
donation of £125 was presented to the Village Hall and £50 to the
Tuesday Club.
Our willing support group was Ted Poole stage manager, Sandra
Canning scenery, Sue Ward costumes and property and Keith Philips
sounds and lighting.
The cast in order of appearance were Bob Perkin, Sue Ward, Ted
Poole, David Eastall, Kim Eastall, Helen Townley (played two
roles), Peter Bingham, Robert Townley, Victoria Osborne and Gordon
Riley.
Press
Report: (by Michael
Anderton)
Once again the Bentley Players' annual panto was enjoyed by the
village in early January. If you didn't manage to get a ticket, you
missed one of the highlights of the village hall year.
Cinderella was played by Victoria Osborne and supported by Buttons,
played by word-perfect newcomer to the cast, Gordon Riley.
The other newcomer, Bob Perkin, played Baron Boozy, and the usual
cast capered through a script injected with local flavour by
Charles Cripps. Profits from the three shows were presented
in the form of cheques to the Tuesday Club and the Village Hall
Committee at the end of the Saturday evening show. Well done
everyone, we look forward keenly to next year's
show.
