Boundary Committe report update 18-06-09:
The Boundary Committee have now made their second report. The
outcome is very similar to the original report, but Lowestoft now
remains in Suffolk and the two options are given equal
recommendation. The Parish Council met on 20 April
to agree on its response to this document. This response is at
Boundary committee II We understand that implementation is
likely to be April 2011.
MSDC Land bids - update 18-06-09:
MSDC are now going ahead with the Stowmarket bids and it will be
sometime next year before our area is tackled. Even this could be
overtaken by events when we move toward unitary status. Bramford PC
does not intend to get involved with the Stowmarket
issues.

Bramford Lawn Cemetery:
Ther council have approved work to start on
repairing the grass edges that have been damaged by rabbits.
Over the next few weeks the contractor will be putting in place
wooden edging along the line of the gravestones and reseeding
damaged areas outside of this.
This is expensive, but considered necessary to preserve the nature
of the lawn cemetery. Any graves where the flowers or other
ornaments extend beyond the allowable limits will have these items
removed and stored so please make sure that you clear any grave for
which you are responsible.
The council is also considering extending the cemetery to meet
demands beyond 2011. The first stage of this will be to
employ a suitable landscape architect to advise on the possible
layouts.
A Quality Council:
Bramford Parish Council announced some time ago its intention to
apply for “Quality Parish Council” status. This has now risen to
the top of our agenda since the parish clerk gained her Local
Council Administration certificate. We believe that the exercise
will make us more aware of the needs of parishioners as well as
improve our own performance by streamlining procedures, setting
challenging targets and getting essential training for all
councillors so that they know better how to work for the
parish.
The work on this is nearly completed and we hope to apply for
certification in July or
August.
