Meeting Documents and Annual Report:
Parish Council
Bramford Parish Council meets on the
third Monday of each month in the Parish room attached to the Old
School - pictured here. All parishioners are welcome to attend the
meetings as observers and time is set aside early in the meeting
for their comments if they wish to contribute. Agendas for the
meetings are posted on the two village notice boards opposite the
Angel PN and at Gables Corner.
There are about 2,500 residents living
mainly in the and around the village centre and the Council is
responsible for raising the parish rate on all residents and using
it to maintain and support the cemetery, churchyard, allotments,
street lighting and cleaning, car parks, bus shelters, village hall
and playing fields.
In addition it examines planning
applications sent to Mid Suffolk District Council and advises that
body of the local view regarding those applications. If there is a
short time limit some applications are dealt with at additional
meetings.
The council appoints representatives
to the Village Hall and Playing Field committees and has footpath
and tree wardens to inspect for safety and other issues. It is
involved with other local councils, societys and groups to
cooperate on traffic and other topics of mutual interest.
The current councillors are listed on
the contacts page of this site or can be found in the Bramford
Directory which was issued to all households and businesses in the
village in
2006.
