Brundish Training
Centre was formed in 2001 to provide training courses as part
of the Suffolk Online project. This
Government-funded community project provided free computers,
printers, internet access and training courses to private
individuals and businesses in the Framlingham area.
Suffolk Tutors Group provided the tutors to deliver the
training courses for the people who had received
computers under the project. The Committee Room in Brundish
Village Hall was equipped with 10 student computers to do
this.
After the intial free course under the project, most people wanted
to carry on learning. Suffolk Tutors Group therefore devised
a succession of follow-on courses which continue to the present
day.
These became so successful that the Committee Room became
inadequate for the size and number of classes. As a
consequence, Brundish Village Hall committee was successful in
securing funding for a purpose-built extension to the Village
Hall where we now run computer courses in much more comfortable
surroundings for up to 12
students.
