The local film company MovieZone set up a large screen and stereo sound system in the main hall for an audience of up to 50.  Tickets are £5 adults and £4.50 children.  Light refreshments are available before the film and during the interval, including popcorn.

Showings have included Shrek 2, Aviator, Sea Biscuit, Ladies In Lavender, My House in Umbria, The Constant Gardener, Proof, The Queen, Little Miss Sunshine, Miss Potter, The History Boys, The Holiday, Atonement, The Kite Runner, Breaking and Entering, The Duchess, Easy Virtue, The Reader, A Bunch of Amateurs, The Boat That Rocked and State of Play.

JulieandJulia1 Our next showing is due on Thursday 1st April 2010 - Julie and Julia, starring Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Stanley Tucci.  Based on true stories and best selling memoirs, the film contrasts the life in Paris at the end of the war of Julia Child, who was to become the doyenne of French cooking in America, with that of Julie Powell in 21st century New York as she seeks to cook all of Julia’s recipes in a year.

Their lives are intertwined, despite the separation of time and space, for both women are at a loose end until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible.  A warm and satisfying comedy, with another terrific Oscar nominated performance from Meryl Streep.  A great evening’s entertainment is assured.  Certificate 12A ,the film includes strong language and some sensuality.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 pm start and tickets payable at the door cost £5 (or £4.50 for children).  Refreshments before the film and during the interval are available.
