A POPULAR village pub which suddenly closed earlier in 2008 has been refurbished and reopened. The Shannon at Bucklesham, near Ipswich, has reopened with a contemporary interior following refurbishment.
The increasing number of pubs which have closed for a variety of reasons has caused concern among the licensed trade but Julie and Stella Booth believe that pubs will survive if they adhere to certain basic principles.

Julie and Stella feel that: "If you do the right thing you will survive and flourish - provide a good product, cooked and served well, in a good atmosphere and you will always score." The Shannon aims to support local producers as much as possible and also bakes its own bread.
