Hall layout The hall is adjacent to a large recreational football and cricket field.  There is a free car park nearby with spaces available on a first come first served basis. The hall has wheelchair access with dedicated disabled toilets.

The main hall is connected to a smaller room (Garrard room).  The two rooms may be booked together or seperately.  Behind the main hall there is a self-contained smaller room (Committee room) capable of seating up to fifteen people.

The village hall is regularly used for important  functions such as weddings or anniversaries and can be transformed with an internal “marquee” lining. Select the right hand heading "Special Functions" for further information.

The Main Hall

The main hall is approximately 15 by 9 metres it is well lit by overhead lighting and windows on both sides.  The room can take up to 200 people dancing or 160 seated.  There is a fully equipped stage, useful for presentations, eg. DJ.  The hall is licensed for entertainment but hirers are expected to obtain their own alcohol licence if drinks are to be sold on the premises.  Hirers are recommended to speak to the booking secretary should a licensed bar be required.

The main kitchen, just off the main hall, is fully equipped with a large cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and constant boiling hot water. Crockery and cutlery is included in the hiring charges.

The Garrad Room

The main hall is connected to the Garrad Room via a double door.  This is a smaller room (7m square) sometimes used by hirers to complement the Main Hall. However it may be hired as a separate facility.  It is large enough to take 50 as a seated audience. The room has a separate modest kitchen and is useful for children’s parties or smaller activities.

The Committee Room

A room at the rear of the building intended to be used as a small meeting room with limited facilities.  It does have its own external access.   This may be useful should you require a staging post for cyclists, hikers or a group using the river Stour, which runs the other side of the recreation ground.

Cleaning

The facilities are given a thorough clean by the caretakers every week. However we would ask hirers to leave the hall at the end of the hiring period, as they would wish to find it.  This is especially important when one organisation hands over to another without the time or opportunity for the caretakers to clean the hall.  There are cleaning materials kept in a cupboard in the kitchen.
