WORKING AT HEIGHT
Figures from the Health and Safety Executive reveal that falls from height continue to be the biggest killer in the construction industry.

Edge Protection
The first line of defence is to provide adequate edge protection
It needs to meet minimum legal standards of, or be equivalent to:
A main guard rail at least 910mm above the edge.
A toe board at least 150mm high.
An intermediate guard rail or other barrier so that there is no gap more than 470mm.

Safe use of Scaffold

Do not take up boards, move handrails or remove ties to gain access for work.
Never work from platforms that are not fully boarded.
Do not overload. Store materials so the load is spread evenly.
Make sure there is suitable access onto the working platform.

The majority of our staff are fully PASMA trained. We can offer advice and assistance on working at height including the 3T method of erecting aluminium towers as recommended by PASMA. A comprehensive assembly guide is issued with each hire.

(PASMA stands for Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association)
