Awarded a Certificate of Merit in the National Allotment Gardens Trust / Kitchen Garden Magazine 2007 'Best Allotment Shed' competition

Our 2008 open day is on Saturday 28 June from 2-4 pm. Plant and produce stalls, home made cakes, refreshments, displays of spinning and old gardening tools – and more. Entrance is free! (Due to space limitations, there’s no car parking on site but there is unrestricted parking on nearby roads.)

Castle Hill Allotments are located in the West of Ipswich, between Dales Road and Ashcroft Road / Larchcroft Road. There are about 150 lettable plots, some 10 rod, some 5 rod, with currently 115 plot holders. Due to the current popularity of our site, only five rod plots are at present available for letting (any vacated 10 rod plots are split into two 5 rod plots). Castle Hill Allotments is one of Ipswich Borough Council's allotment sites within the town. The day to day running of all Ipswich Allotments is by the Ipswich Allotment Holders' Association Ltd, through the field committee which consists of Field Chairman, Field Secretary, two Field Wardens and a committee of six people, elected annually at the annual general meeting.
