RESCUING AND REHOMING UNWANTED CATS & KITTENS.

Self explanatory really.  We take the greatest care to assess each one and try to match theCAROLJENNYWEBm to the most suitable home.  This is where the Fosterer comes into their own as they can make this assessment better than anyone else.  We have often neutered and vaccinated the cats before they leave us, although if the kittens are too young, they are rehomed on the agreement that the adoptees will arrange it when the kitten is old enough and a reminder is sent by us.

SPONSORED CATS.

Sadly, for a variety of reasons, some cats cannot be rehomed.  We have fosterers who look after SAMMYWEBthem for the rest of their lives in love and comfort.   We are able to do this because of the kindness of cat lovers who sponsor a cat, (or more).   These are often people who because of their own circumstances cannot have a cat –e.g. Allergies, accommodation etc, and this way they are helping a huge amount.  If you are interested, contact Carol Wood. FERAL CATS.

Many farms etc.have found the couple of cats they kept to control the rats and mice have been doing things other than hunting, and lo, a whole colony has developed.  This can also leaGLORIAGRUMPSWEBd to the spread of lethal feline diseases.   We humanely trap and neuter these cats and return them to the site at the owners request.  Others which could never become lap-cats, we home to other outdoor sites on condition they are given food, shelter and any medical care needed.  The kittens we gently tame so they can be home pets.

ELDERLY CATS.

We have many elderly cats coming into care each year.  Sometimes their beloved owner has died or LadyWebentered a nursing home where pets are not allowed.   These cats are obviously not as easy to home as a cute kitten but they can still give love and companionship and we can help with some veterinary bills.   This is covered by our “Golden Oldies” Scheme.  We had five cats between the ages of seven and eighteen last year.  The youngest is now bringing joy to a lady in her sheltered home and to our great and amazed delight, the four older ones were all adopted by one wonderful family where they are all still going strong.
