At Chantry Residents Association
we are committed to organising and holding communal events for the
residents of Chantry.
One of our best and most popular events is
Lark
in the park which is held
on Gippeswyk Park and this year will be on SUNDAY 29
JUNE
This is a free community fun
day, we just want people to come and have
fun.
Throughout the day activities
include penalty shoot out, bouncy castle, childrens rides, charity
stalls, face painting, games, car boot, tombola, and the arena
entertainment is supplied by Egyptian Dancers, a local majorette
group, Colini the Wizard, it's a knockout and much much
more.
New attractions for last year
were Essex Hov pods, 5-a-side football and ride on Billy the
horse and Jack the
pony.

As well as holding our own
charity fun day we are also invited to join other local residents
association's fun day's or charity events where we have stalls
ranging from books, bric a brac, tombola etc depending on the event
we are attending. We try not to miss out on any opportunity
to raise money!
Other events we organise are regular coach trips which in the past
have included trips to Southend on Sea, Great Yarmouth and before
Christmas a trip to Snettington Market. This year we are
planning to have a 'mystery coach trip'. Please phone 01473
683680 for more information or the date and place of the next
trip.
For the children of Chantry we
hold Christmas, Halloween and Easter parties. Everyone
dresses up and has a great time entering into the spirit of
things.

This year's CRA FRIGHT NIGHT!
See the notice board on the
HOME page for the dates of
our forthcoming
events!
One of our sub committee's,
Chantry Youth
Development Initiative
runs free
basketball coaching programmes throughout the year for
children aged between 5 and 15, for details of the next one and
more information on CYDI please
their own website.

We are currently
working with the youths of the area and the local authorities in
the hope of providing more facilities in the evenings for the
youths aged 13-18.
We recently had a stall at the Ipswich Panorama
(Diversity Day) at the Robert Cross Hall at the Corn
Exchange

This was an information day
for voluntary groups and local authorties around
Ipswich to give the public an idea what goes on in these
groups.
