I was elected to Council in May 2003, replacing the Late Jack Godley who had been the sitting Member for a great number of years, as an Independent Member and represent Holbrook, Lower Holbrook and Harkstead.

For the first two years of my term I was a member of the Overview & Scrutiny(Community Services) Committee and now a member of theDevelopment Committee.

I am also a member of the Pin Mill Task Group, H R Panel and the Joint Advisory Committee of Suffolk Coast and Heath.

Once again Babergh have set its Council Tax at abelow inflation rte of 2.9% in line with the Council's aim. I am sure this will be well received by all the population of Babergh.

Talks are continuing between the planners at Babergh, Haylink and Shotley Parish Council on proposals that will be accepted for the former HMS Ganges site. Everyone will be hoping that a sarisfactory conclusion will be agreed.

After searching for a suitable site for affordable housing in Holbrook, the Parish Council were delighted to report that plans for affordable housing with Orwell Housing are due to be presented very shortly for a site in Ipswich Road.
