In July, the Fiddler Of Grantchester was
filmed in Hoxne and involved lots of the village's
children. The latest community project produced by create is
part of a series of films originating from traditional East
Anglian tales. The legend of the Fiddler of Grantchester is
based on an underground passage said to run from the Old Manor
House in Grantchester to King's College, Cambridge Chapel two
miles away. It was said that a fiddler offering to follow the
passage set off playing his fiddle, but soon the music became
fainter and fainter, until it was heard no more. The fiddler was
never seen or heard of
