This is an update to let you know that the village Community
Council has regrettably been disbanded due to lack of members. We
only had 2 members when the legal requirement was 5 members. Our
time ran out to resolve this issue in April. We would like to thank
all past members for their support and commitment to the village
over the years. The money raised over the years for the playground
project has been transferred to the control of the Parish Council.
This money is protected in a separate account and will only be
spent on the playground project. Some of you may have noticed that
clearance work has begun on the play area. This is stage one of the
project. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the
Marland family for allowing us to legally acquire the play area for
the sole use of village recreation. I'm sure you all agree that
this is an incredibly kind gesture by the Marland family. We
apologise for any inconvenience caused during this process.
Unfortunately we have therefore had to stop the bonus ball
fundraiser . It is possible that the Parish Council will take this
over. We would like to thank Liz Sawyer for her hard work, often in
all weathers, in organising the bonus ball. This has been our sole
source of income in recent times. Well done Liz, and thanks.
I'm sure we'd all like to see the traditional village fete
return in the near future, along with other village events. The
recent pub evening and coffee mornings have been so successful in
bringing us all together and enjoying our little village more. We
would also like to thank Steve, Mark, Sue and Rosemary from the
Parish Council for their support and help in securing the
playground project for the village.
Any questions, please don't to hesitate to contact either one of
us.
Thanks,
Dan Mason and Dean Scott-Webb
