The village of Crowfield shares a boundary with the neighbouring
villages of Coddenham,Gosbeck, Pettaugh and Stonham
Aspal. Old maps indicate that the area of Crowfield is 1731 acres
(700 Hectares ). Crowfield lies 8 miles to the north of
Ipswich, which is the county town of Suffolk. Fifty years ago the
village had two churches, two public houses, The Bell and the Rose.
Two village stores, one being a Post Office a garage and a
blacksmith. Of these the only survivors are, The Rose public house,
the two churches and the garage. The Village Hall and Recreation
ground are situated in the heart of the village. These are used by
many village organisations and for various events, through the
year. We have a modern childrens play area on the recreation ground
which is used regularly along with a basketball court and small
football pitch.
