Following the success of our earlier book
'An Evening
Gone’, another one thousand
years of Darsham’s
History awaits readers -
The Darsham Local History
Recorder has again joined forces with the Vicar and
the
P.C.C. Secretary to produce a second book.
'The Watch that ends
the Night'
tells the story of the
social and economic history in
Darsham during the last millennium. Parish events
are
put in the context of wider historical movements
-
fragments of history are built up into a narrative
- to
give us another picture of our very special
village.
Publication is set for later this year. The initial
run is
for five hundred copies - the anticipated prices is
£7 + p
& p - the book is expected to be about 140
pages long
including photographs.
The book is to be published by the Darsham
Parochial
Church Council and will be sold in aid of the
Parish
Church Fabric Fund.
Coffee Mornings: If
you are in or around Darsham call in for coffee. Coffee
mornings are held on the 2nd. Saturday of every month at 10am to 12
noon in the Village Hall. Each month a different organisation
runs the coffee morning, so why not come along and have a chat and
meet the Darsham
villagers.
