Welcome to our new site for the young people of Elmswell

If you are a young person and live in Elmswell this page is for you. You will find contact numbers and activities on here.

Loads of things are happening for the young people in Elmswell in this New Year. We have put in a planning application for a YOUTH SHELTER to be built up on the ‘Blackbourne’ Playing Field. We already have received some funding towards this project and are hoping other groups in the Community and Parish will support and fund us, if successful!

We also have put a planning application for use of the old School site in Elmswell as a BMX track. Young people in the area have signed a petition and written letters of support for this project. We also have some funding money set aside for this venture.

We have just bought £1,200 worth of DJ equipment including decks and amps along with dance music CD’s. This was also purchased from a successful funding application. We plan to put on some DJ Tuition sessions and get the Youth involved in putting on their own events.

YOUTH BOXING PROGRAMME, NON-CONTACT BOXING.

This is a programme of sessions promoting ‘Self Protection’, Fitness, Health and Confidence.
It is run by ‘Carl Errington’ the Physical Trainer from Suffolk Constabulary.
We want to run a day session or a series of sessions at the ‘Blackbourne’. We need at least 20 people to participate, please contact ‘Sue’ or ‘Marian’ for details.
THE PUB CLUB !!

This is running on Monday evenings from 7-9pm at the ‘Railway Tavern’ in Elmswell. We get a good group of teenagers and they can play Pool (free), Darts, Nintendo Wii Games or sometimes watch the football on SKY. Often they get a free Coke and we have regular ‘free Chips’ nights!!
This is a substitute-meeting place for the young people until we get our own building. Anyone who is aged between 13-17yrs can come along.

BOOK CLUB

This is a venture we want to set up on a regular basis at the Library in Elmswell. We need young people to come forward with ideas of books they would like to study and discuss together. We would hope to run it on a Thursday evening from 6-7pm or would any other time be better?
We need some responses to get this off the ground and welcome a younger age group, possibly 10 years upwards. Please contact ‘Sue’ for details.
We already have some volunteers who are ready to assist!

We plan to have some outings, possibly Go-Karting, SkatePark or Adventure Park.
We would love more imput from young people in Elmswell who have not yet participated in any of our events.
Please do not be afraid to text or give me a ring as the more young people in Elmswell we can get involved, the more we will be able to provide.
