Money forthcoming from Eye Parish Magazine Fund.7) Geoffrey asked
to talk about planning issues/retail survey: local problems with
shops. Would like to find out from people where/when/how they shop
– may reassure retailers. Survey could be used to encourage new
traders/strengthen existing traders. Shopping patterns – where do
people come from who shop in Eye?Mid Suffolk Council: Local
Development Framework. May be able to effect LDF at Deposit Stage.
Feels that MSDC has misconception about Eye and its business
importance. This will affect its whole approach to the town.
Consultation at present – ends 2 July. Classification of Eye as
village may affect future policies. Town Council will make its own
formal response. LDF must be given high profile at consultation
days – draw people's attention to it: issues such as healthcare,
social provision are important. Geoffrey
4 Budget: Target of £5000 achieved. Funding from all organisations
approached, apart from County Council Locality budget.
Administration. Still unclear as to the degree to which the
Steering Group can administer budget. Understanding is that must be
held within Town Council – Penny to talk to Annette Gray to gain
clarification. In meantime can't pay in cheques and can't pay out.
Penny liasing with Town Clerk. Penny
