an active playgroup which celebrates its 30th birthday
this year, a well regarded primary school, a picturesque pub, The
Elephant & Castle, and a well stocked village
shop.

La Chaine des Chenes - The Chain of Oaks - is an organisation
linking villages in Europe whose name derives from the word for
oak. The young people of Eyke have enjoyed visits to meet
other young people from Eecke, in France, Eichen-Bruche in Germany,
Eke in Belgium, Eiken in Switzerland and Egtved in
Denmark. This flourishing organisation hopes to meet again in
Belgium in 2008.
Eyke, being close to the old Bentwaters Airbase, has always
maintained close contacts with friends and family in the
USA.
