Organic or not?

Green, organic or what??

People are interested to know about this, because more and more people feel that Organic is the best way.

Members and other tenants are free to use whatever methods of cultivation they like.  Most members are pretty "green" in the way they compost and use the free horse manure [available on Cowpasture], but all members are equally important, there is no "party line" on such matters.

Experienced Organic members will be pleased to talk with new plotholders/members
about starting to go organic and about problems and their own solutions.

“Organic” plots?

It is not possible to ask for a plot which is organic. There are no guarantees about what methods were previously used on any given plot. People with strong organic ideas can use organic methods for the three years which it takes to make a plot really organic, and not come to any harm eating their produce which will be progressively more organic..

Many new tenants and members come to allotment gardening because they want organic veg on their table, so there is a good deal of support for the idea and the methods.
