Karen Kenny cuts her birthday cake
Karen Kenny the Chair of Suffolk Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardeners cutting her birthday cake which F & D AA gave her on 28th. Feb. 2008 when she spoke at their meeting in the winter series. She spoke about Soil - the essential ingredient to all life and almost all we are and have. She explained how vital it is to keep soil alive by feeding it, so all the micro-organisms [billions of them!] can make nutrients available to our plants. She also emphasised the importance of soil structure

Tools suffer in the fire
The tools which were in the fire on Cowpasture site. The whole episode illustrates the importance of the Fire Service people saying that fires must be out before you leave them. This fire was not out, the wind changed and grew and the plotholder's hut went up, then took the neighb ours two huts with it. His hut was nearly new. Was he insured???
