90% of computer learning is geared to the commercial world and the young.
We cater for both young and older people who wish to keep up with modern technology, but would prefer to do so in a sociable way - and without appearing foolish.
We have accomplished this in a relaxed and happy atmosphere with a great deal of support from our tutor. Everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace and no-one is made to feel foolish if they don't understand. We are taught using words we know and technical jargon is banned.
We meet every week for two hours, the first hour being devoted to questions from members, which helps everyone, and the second hour to recap and enlarge our knowledge with a previously planned programme.
The first computer club has now been in existence for over five years and hopefully will continue to meet in this way.
We e-mail one another to exchange knowledge (we have a password to reduce possibility of passing on a virus) and look forward enormously to each session.
