Nacton Hall demolished 1941
Mary Edwards - In the 14th century a second ancient manor – that of
Necton – was sold by the Abbey to the Cotton family of Cambridge.
Later it was acquired by the Conyers, who gave their name to the
present Conyers Green. Necton Hall was situated west of the present
Livermere Road and its enclosing moat has been revealed in aerial
photographs. The last building on the site was demolished in
1941.
Parish Church Mission Hall
Richard Leveritt - The Church of England Mission Hall was located,
I believe in Conyer's Green to the left behind the houses now
situated on Mill Road (this was previously called Fornham Road, not
surprisingly) to the left of the entrance to Conyers Green. I
believe it was used by the Conyer's Green community during the
winter months to avoid the long and difficult walk to Holy
Innocents.
