The village and school in the

Holton St Peter Community Primary School lies in the heart of
Holton village. It was built in the 1850s and enlarged in 1914.
The school currently has over 90 children aged from 4 to 9 on
its roll. It has been awarded an Arts Mark Gold, an ‘Eco’ school
award and in a recent Ofsted report it was awarded the highest
grade in most categories.
At the age of 9 most children currently move on to Halesworth
Middle School, although all schools in the area are changing from a
'three-tier' system to a 'two-tier' one. This means that
children will stay on at Holton School until they are 11 and then
transfer onto senior school as Halesworth Middle School is
being closed. Building works are currently taking place to
cater for the corresponding increase in numbers.
