Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 24th February,
2010, in the Board Rooms 1/2, Suffolk New College, Rope Walk,
Ipswich, IP4 1LT at 7.30pm. Details have been posted
to all members and also sent by email.

Holi Celebrations: Sunday 28th February, 2010, 4 to
7pm
Like last year the Samaj will be celebrating the
Holi, Festival of Colours, on Sunday 28th February 2010 at the
St Clements Hospital Social Club from 4pm to 7pm. There will be
children activities, face paintings, henna painting, yoga taster,
dances, songs & music, tambola sale of Indian
artefacts, food and a Shrine (temple).
The admission will be free All members are welcome with their
children to enjoy this Mini Mela, the start of Spring
season.

Community Celebrations: Sunday 21st March at Wolsey New
Theatre, 2.30pm
The Samaj will participate in the Ipswich Mayor's Community
Celebrations on Sunday 21st March 2010 at 2.30pm at the Wolsey New
Theatre. All members are invited to attend this celebration.

Hindu Cultural Centre In Ipswich
We are in negotiations with the agents Fen Wright for the
hiring of the old Ipswich Buddhist Centre, 1-5
Throughfare, Ipswich, opposite the entrance to ICVS, for the Hindu
Cultural Centre. Hope fully we will be able to secure it on short
term lease for three years extending it to for
further six years from 31st March 2010, provided the
landlords agree on the appropriate rent and service charges
that we have suggested to them.
We will keep you informed on the progress for the acquiring of
premises for the Ipswich Hindu Samaj Cultural Centre. For latest
information, please see the December issue of the IHS
newsletter.
We are also looking for other suitable properties for the
Hindu Cultural Centre in Ipswich.

Farewell to Abha & Mukesh Bansal
At
the meeting of the Ipswich Hindu Samaj Execuitve Committee
& Trustees, on 28th September, Abha & Mukesh were
presented with a painting of Orwell Bridge in Ipswich, for their
work for the Samaj.
Abha Bansal worked as the Samaj's Co-ordinator in both offcial and
voluntary capacity and Mukesh as Asstt Secretary in the Executive
Committee responsible for looking for premises for the Hindu
Cultural Centre and for editing the IHS Newsletter.
They had now gone back home in India, and we wish them and
their two little children Vishnu & Girima a very happy

Farewell to Shakti and Anil
Khosla

"Anil & Shakti Khosla" who have been a great inspiration to
all of us in the Samaj activities, have left Ipswich for
London.
They were presented with a gift from the IHS at the Indian Summer
Mela in July 2009.
We wish them a very happy future in London.

Bhajan Evening & Maha
Shivraatri
The next Bhajan Evening to celebrate Maha
Shivraatri will be held on Friday 19th February 2010 at
Unitarian Hall adjacent to the Meeting House, Friars Street,
Ipswich, IP1 1TD at 7.30pm.

All are welcome, and if you wish, you may bring Prasad for
offering.
Samaj wishes Happy Shiv Raatri to all its members, friends and
welwishers of the Samaj.
This evening is jointly sponsored by Mr & Mrs
Chandravardan & Mayuri Patel to celebrate their Marriage
Anniversary and by Dr Sushil & Mrs Hamlesh Soni.

Bharatnatyam
Indian classical dance classes by Viji Moorthie
Bharatanatyam is form of dance-theatre originating India.
It combines rhythmic footwork and storytelling via mime.

The HareKrishna chanting and Bhagwad Gita reading
