Parish Plan

What is a Parish Plan? It is the vision of all those who live or work in the parish of how they see the area developing in the future. Views and comments from all sections of the community, young and not so young alike, will be sought through public meetings and questionaires.

This is our opportunity to shape the future of the village and we hope that everyone will support the Parish Plan Process. A steering group committee has been formed, independant of but with the full support of the Parish Council, consisting of representatives of village organisations and residents. The committee is anxious to be as representative as possible and there is room for more volunteers. Would you like to help us?, we would love to hear from you. Do have a chat with one of the committee to see how you could help.

We will keep you informed of process through this website and the village notice boards and will be happy to hear any comments or suggestions.

The steering committe is:

Chair:
Doug Ireland, 28 East View, Kelsale. e.mail ireldoug@aol.com

Every household in the parish should have received an explanatory flyer with their copy of "Contact", the church magazine at the end of January.

The committee have been very busy working on an application for Grant Aid from Defra to help pay for the process of consulting everybody living or working in the village about their vision for the future. Assuming that our application is successful we will then begin to work out the logistics of this consultation exercise, leading up to a trial run of the questionnaire in the late summer 2008.

The committee were successful in obtaining a grant from Defra. Two "drop-in" sessions were held to draw up a list of the issues that are important. The committee is now working hard on drawing up the questionnaires to be delivered to all household in Kelsale-cum-Carlton. In addition a questionnaire for all businesses in the Parish has already been drawn up and work will take place on one for the young people of the area.

It is hoped that these questionnaires will be dropping on doormats from mid November onwards.
