Local Strategic Partnership Event

Trevor Jessop attended, on behalf of the Kettleburgh Green Trust,
the recent Suffolk Coastal District Council’s ‘Local Strategic
Partnership’ Forum held at Trinity Park on the 12th
November 2010. The picture shows him at the KGT ‘market stall’. The
market stall area was a significant part of the event where
attending organisations could literally set up a stall and provide
information about their objectives and/or services provided. Trevor
intends the stall to be more informative next time presenting more
of a story line of the green’s history and more about the future.
Visitors to the stall were both surprised and complimentary about
what we have achieved so far, some visitors also provided useful
information and ideas.
Apart from hearing about the ‘Big Society’ and
‘Social Enterprise’ from speakers at the beginning of the forum
Trevor attended two workshops. The first was about resilient
communities and the second consisted of presentations regarding how
to get young people involved and an exercise that demonstrated to
the attending adults that we are not generally able to think like,
or indeed for, young people. Both workshops provided useful ideas
for the Trust to consider.
Race
Night

The Sport of Kings came to Kettleburgh Village Hall on Saturday 18
September when a good crowd watched no less than sixty four runners
in eight exciting races. They laid their bets, enjoyed a
drink or two and had a splendid chilli supper.
All this was superbly
organised by the Kettleburgh Green Trust
to raise funds for the Green.
It was a very good evening and much enjoyed
by all.

The races were in
fact on film but the tote was real
and did good business as did the raffle
and the auctions of horses for each race.

This conifer tree which you can find to the left of the pond
was donated to the Village Green by Doreen Read. It was given
to Eddie and Doreen for their wedding anniversary. She asked
if it could be planted on the Green in memory of Eddie
who passed away earlier this year.
