L&DEC was set up approximately 30 years ago to run horse shows in Lavenham but now most of our events are based in the wonderful parkland of Melford Hall, Long Melford.
We run 5 events each year all of which are open to members and non-members alike.
The season starts with a Hunter trial in April and then we have 3 general horse shows, June, August and September, which include showjumping and a wide variety of showing classes. In July we have a smaller showing show and gymkhana at Great Waldingfield Suffolk.
We have only a small committee of 5 to run the events and always welcome help in any form.
The club produces a schedule booklet with all our events and entry forms in. Details of how to obtain one are on either the Diary page or Schedule page.
The clubs philosophy is to provide well-organised events but still maintaining that ‘Local’ show feel, where anyone can come of any standard and have a fun day.
Spectators are always welcome at our events.
