AUGUST SHOW REPORT

The Lavenham & district Equestrian clubs luck with good weather at their events over the past two years finally ran out at their August show at Melford Hall on Sunday. Despite the Heavy thundery showers that plagued the show from mid morning Entries kept coming in, an extra 102 horses arrived on the day on top of the pre entered 70. This meant all five rings were kept busy especially the show jumping ring that went on till 6.30pm, over 9 hours of solid competition.

There were some beautifully turned out and well ridden combinations of horse & rider giving the judges quite a hard time.

The winner of the Suffolk Free Press Trophy for the working cob was won for the second year running by Kelly Cole on Sir Jim Bob

As at the clubs other shows this season there was no run away winner of the overall points championship with last years winner Jo Davie and Gorwell Dancemaster just pipped to the post by Mollie Geraghty on Sandcrest Tigers Eye.

The club ends their 2008 season at their show at Melford Hall on Sunday 14th September, spectators are always welcome to the clubs events.
