Terms of  Reference

Aim
To provide a multi-agency and community forum to address issues around homophobic and  transphobic incidents.

Objectives
To investigate and monitor the extent and nature of incidents of homophobia and transphobia and make recommendations

To develop and implement a range of strategies aimed at:
Preventing homophobic and transphobic harassment
Assisting victims of homophobic and transphobic harassment
Tackling under reporting of incidents
Identifying and implementing good practice

To monitor and evaluate the work of the group

Potential additional members may be invited to a meeting at the discretion of the Chair, who may seek the views of others.  Following a potential new member’s attendance they may be confirmed as a member of the Group if it is considered to be to the benefit of the individual and the Group as a whole.


Meetings
Bi-monthly, with additional meetings, when required

 
Confidentiality

The group will respect the views and wishes of members concerning the confidentiality of their attendance and participation
