Good listening and
speaking skills are the foundation of all progress in this and all
other subjects. We put a high value on guiding children to listen
carefully and speak clearly. As for reading and writing skills,
there can be no doubt that the National Literacy Strategy has
provided a real boost to attainment, as reflected in our SAT
results. Support programmes have also boosted the confidence of the
lower attainer.
We also value creative input, however. For many year, we have
offered a wide range of outings, theatre trips, visiting authors
and literary events to inspire boys as well as girls.
