Sex Education does not happen in isolation. On the contrary, it
forms part of a very comprehensive scheme designed to foster the
personal and social development of each pupil. From the foundation
years right through to Year 6, we explore the same vital themes,
albeit at the level appropriate for the child:-
Responsibilities Relationships Personal Safety
Health Understanding Change
While younger pupils do not follow a specific programme of Sex
Education, they will most certainly be introduced to concepts of
reproduction in plants and animals (Years 3 and 4). They will also
be encouraged to develop an understanding of their own rights and
responsibilities, along with the knowledge and skills that help us
to maintain health and safety as individuals. We place great
emphasis not only on care for each other, but also on care for the
environment. This has led to many successes in local projects such
as Felixstowe in
Flower.
