Please note that the school cannot accept responsibility for the
care and safety of pupils before 8.50am. Pupils may wait in our
outdoor reception area until the gate is opened, but should not
arrive before 8.45am.
Children who go home for a midday
meal should not return to school until 1.10pm.
Lunchtime supervision is provided
only for children who eat a meal at school.
Parents are asked to wait on the
playground when collecting their children at the end of the school
day (3.30pm). For the children’s security, please keep us informed
of any change in arrangements – an unavoidable delay or special
collection by taxi are good examples.
At times your child may be involved
in voluntary activities or clubs after school. Parents will always
receive advance notice of these.
LATE ARRIVAL AND ABSENCE
National regulations require us to record the incidence and
reason for pupil absence in detail. Please keep us informed by
telephone on the first day of your child’s absence. Parents should
also send a letter of explanation on the child’s return to
school.
Any absence for which we have no satisfactory explanation must
be recorded as “unauthorised”.
Our attendance registers are checked every six weeks by the
Educational Welfare Officer. Under government legislation, periods
of prolonged absence will be investigated by the Educational
Welfare Service, which may result in the issuing of fixed penalty
notices.
If your child is late or needs to leave during the school day,
parents will need to complete the signing in/out register.
SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS
Parents should tune in to SGR (96.4 FM) or BBC Radio Suffolk
(103.9 FM) early in the morning for the latest
information.
