NACTON, LEVINGTON AND BUCKLESHAM
MOTHERS' UNION
We are a small branch of a worldwide organisation that has three
and half million members in seventy-eight countries. Our aim is to
promote and support married life and Christian care for families
and to help those whose family life has met with adversity.
Nacton and Levington Mothers' Union has been in existence
possibly since before the 1920's when meetings were held at Orwell
Park (now a school). Four years ago we included Bucklesham into our
group as we have several members from that village.
Our banner can be seen in St. Peter's Church, Levington.
Our group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 2.30pm,
unless otherwise stated.
Our meetings have included,
- Confessions of a Rebel Reader - Roy Tricker
- Discussion on Relationships
- Domestic Violence - Monica Twaits
We have knitted woolly hats for sailors to be distributed by The
Mission for Seamen at the Port of Felixstowe and knitted teddy
bears for the emergency Ambulance crews to give to small children,
who are sick or injured.
We
welcome visitors and new members.
