Safer Neighbourhood Teams:

In 2007, Suffolk Constabulary reorganised ‘local policing’ into Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

Levington and Stratton Hall are now in the Felixstowe and District Neighbourhood Team, which includes Felixstowe, Walton and the Trimleys and the rural parishes to the East of Ipswich including Waldingfield, Kirton, Bucklesham etc.

In charge is Sergeant James Harper, and our ‘Beat Bobby’ is Paul Smith.

Parish representatives meet with the Police and other agencies about every 6 weeks, when we advise the police of our concerns, and they advise us on crime prevention/trends and potential threats. Between us we work together to make our parishes as safe as possible.

Recent priorities have been the reduction of car and outbuilding thefts and the elimination of anti-social behaviour [including inappropriate public sexual activity] in some local areas in and around surrounding parishes.

Our parishes remain among the safest in the country, with lower than average crime rates and above average detection figures.

If you want the Parish Council to raise any matter at the next meeting with the Police, please Email us

To contact Sergeant Peter Street: felixstowe.snt@suffolk.pnn.police.uk

Neighbourhood Watch:

Closely linked with the Police Team is Neighbourhood Watch, coordinated by Bob Hardwick. He works closely with our local police, especially on crime prevention and awareness of crime.

Bob contributes articles to every edition of the Parish Council Newsletter, which advises residents on safe precautions against crime and fraud, both national and within Suffolk [now often through the internet and by mail].

Starting in July 2008 safety literature is being distributed to each house with each of the next four Newsletters.
