F.U.N. on the
beach
This Friday – 2nd May – saw the first of a whole
series of beach activities organised by FUN (Families United
Network). FUN came up with the idea. They
successfully applied to Lowestoft Together for funding, and have
organised it all.
The sun was out, shining onto a bit of the beach just south of the
Claremont Pier. There’s lots of beach-type toys, a couple of
Nursery workers, and it’s free. It’s not a crèche though, it’s for
young children and their mums and dads. By 10 there were ten
parents playing and even more children chatting. Or was it the
other way round?
There’s a coach running from the Ark, leaving at 9.30 every Tuesday
and Friday, and returning at 11.15. You don’t have to go from the
Ark – you can go straight to the beach, which is what quite a few
parents did today.
All the activities are free. If you and your child (or children) go
twice, the child will receive a voucher for a free icecream! We're
trying to organise real fruit smoothies as well, but that's not
confirmed yet.
