Trade & Grow
Welcome
Following the success of the outdoor
service at Mow & Grow, professional bodies and local
authorities began requesting an indoor equivalent. Mow & Grow
teamed up with the award winning Grow Organsation UK
Background to Trade & Grow
Trade & Grow was originally an
idea born in 2007. As the construction industry
struggled in the recession we recognised the need for
tailor made intensive courses for those disadvantaged in the labour
market, and so Trevor Lynn teamed up with Alex Cosgrove
in January 2008. Within the first year they began
winning several prestigious awards and moved in to a central
Norwich base. By 2009 a 69 room training centre was
established in Great Yarmouth. In June 2009 we also won our
first contract to build ten houses in the Gt Yarmouth area.
the Grow Organisation UK had already
established national award winning credentials including Enterprise
of The Year 2006 and 2007, Pride of the East 2007, Social
Enterprise Mentor of the Year 2007 and the ARCH Awards 2008
(Association of Retained Council Housing).
This innovative partnership provides
a unique training opportunity for the East of England. The
collective skills and dynamic entrepreneurial approach makes Trade
& Grow … training in all trades. The most exciting opportunity
for those disadvantaged in the labour market for many years. Trade
& Grow is both aspirational and inspirational for all the
learners who pass though our doors. Our learners receive real
skills, real qualifications, real jobs for a real wage….
What we can offer
We are an accredited
assessment centre for OCN and deliver a range of courses
tailored to the individual.
We offer
training
courses and apprenticeships for individuals who wish to
broaden their skills in the construction industry. The training
is provided by friendly, approachable tutors who offer a simple
“hands on” method to training in a relaxed environment. There is
no written work and candidates can gain
National Open College Network qualifications at level 2.
Whether you are a beginner or you
wish to broaden your trade or DIY skills, no experience is
necessary as our courses are open to all regardless of gender, age
or status. Our class sizes are small with
individual tuition. Courses last one
or two weeks and are held at our training centre in Great Yarmouth
and a 10 minute walk from the train station..
