At Mow & Grow we believe our project is only as good as our volunteers. They are our future…As a result we care for our volunteers, we invest time and money ensuring they get the best treatment from us. They in turn stay motivated, stay with us and in turn inspire others to achieve great things. Cultivating Futures….

In 2008 we were fortunate enough to team up with Suffolk County Council social services to deliver training for our teams across the east of England. Our new Lowestoft base shows a significant investment in our volunteers and provides a fantastic setting in an unpressured environment to learn all manner of skills and qualifications from Master Composting to OCN level 1, 2 & 3 qualifications aTrainings well as train the trainer courses.

Our 10 acre site consists of beautiful formal grounds with spring, summer, autumn and winter garden features. With a poly tunnels, offices, conference / training room, toilets, canteen, changing rooms and showers with full disabled access our site includes every possible garden and horticultural setting to enjoy, and experience.

End of the day wave

Our volunteers also training in first aid, horticultural machinery, to expert Bonsai training. As dedicated gardeners our site is a fully signed up member of the Garden Organic and the Thrive organisation.

OPEN DAYS at Mow & Grow House allow new volunteers to “try before you buy”. We give you a full days induction and basic safety training in most of our machinery and equipment. This really gives our volunteers a chance to see if Mow & Grow is for them. No one is pressured into using any machine (you can be just a weeding expert if you choose), but we have found that the ride on mowers become very popular with our teams. The day will include a history of Mow & Grow, our policies and procedures and we take you through the day to day operation. After completing the days training you can then decide if you wish to join the team.

We hold training days every 8 weeks, but book early as we do have a waiting list to join!
